About
Erica Scott is the creator of The Consent Culture Intro Workshop and co-author of the book "Creating Consent Culture: A Handbook for Educators". As a survivor of child sexual abuse, 20 plus years of working in a male dominated industry, and as a mother of young adult children, they feel the urgency to bring more effective consent education to a wider audience. She is the CEO of Creating Consent Culture and has taught consent in Canada, India and the US. In 2019 she was given the Rex Karmaveer Global Award for Social Innovation.
Purpose
Certified Facilitators of the Consent Culture Intro workshop share tools to teach and learn consent skills for people of all genders aged 10 and up. We share fun and interactive exercises that teach skills such as: -what to do when you're a maybe -how to hear no graciously -how to check in with yourself to notice whether you are a yes or a no - how to avoid miscommunications -how to notice incongruity between language and body language -how to ask for what you want clearly and more. We offer these workshops to students, and Train the Trainer workshops to educators, parents and youth leaders so that they can incorporate them into their curriculum and leadership practices.
